I was very fortunate during the past months to work on the Audi e-bike for this year’s Wörthersee show. I was one of 2 designers and many great engineers who helped pull off a working bike that can handle some real stunt work. Working as a team was key to this project running smoothly as we were working within a very tight timeframe. For all of you currently attending Umea, or thinking of applying, make the most of your time there by working with your  classmates. Building great working relationships is just as important as your sketching and rendering abilities. Enjoy!

As the previous post has already indicated we have been having our big annual event here – UID11 Design Talks and Degree Exhibition have been really successful this year with many industry guests present and the possibilities for them to present their companies and studios to the students as well as  to have portfolio reviews for internships and jobs with current students and new graduates. The picture above is taken during one of the breaks – everyone getting some “fika” to keep on getting inspired during the talks.

You can read more about the event here on our own website and  at cardesignnews.com ( if you are having a member login). We are sure more will  hit the web very soon of the amazing projects our graduates have been working on (just click on the names).

This is one of the most awesome automotive advertising campaigns in years, and apparently it comes from Subaru. Just watch this video, and go to the Mediocrity website for a lot more videos and general hilarity.

I’ve always said there is a market for people who would love a car that’s absolutely and categorically not pretending to be anything else than a car.
