It’s seems that part of the rescue plan, sadly, implies selling most part of the colection that is in exibition in the Trollhattan bilmuseum.

I wouldn’t mind to spent some Kronor in the UrSaab or in a 92a or b… or better yet in some of the Erik Carlsson’s (aka “Carlsson på taket”) rally cars.

Now some pics of what you could own in a near future

The theme that all the companys seems to explore this year at the motorshow is the electrical one or two seaters displayed in tandem in order to take advantage of the width of the road. The target market this companys aim to are 16-18, so they would give the driving permission before the legal age. Its some kind of evolution of the motorcycle that parents are happy their children to have, as they are not so dangerous. This theme is present in different stages at different stands: Renault already has the Twizy production ready for only 8000 euros, audi has Urban concept -an inteligent solved interior from the weights point of view- fixed seats and adjustable steering and pedals and also the next step into the buyers market-the small a2 concept that amazes about the strenght of that unique element – which is so simple, powerful and incredible, as it makes you feel bad that you didn’t thought about it before! Also the one seater nils from Vw sells the new lifestyle of teenagers. ( Its actually quit nice to see teenagers in snickers standing next to models!).

A good oportunity to learns more about ready to production electric cars and about technology and battery was in the stand dedicated to electric mobility. One of the most outstanding exhibitors here was Mia electric. 100%real 100%electric as they advertise it. It has a clever and safe solution for being safe when the door is open and parked next to the road.

Another trend that automotive manufacturers seems to follow is the electric bike or the electric scooters. Smart has the whole range, peugeot as well has displayed the limited edition of the ebike but the newcommer is the Ford ebike concept.

Allin all, the motorshow area was transformed into a mini electric city. Test driving of the opel ampera was possible and the walking area was invaded by silencieus cars driving behind you. For the next year I suggest the organisers to use also a ebike rental system! It would be less painful for our feets!

Seems like Audi has crossed the borders of car manufacturing, proposing the public also a custom made building that hosted two racing loops built around the showroom with audi models driving around with a tight schedule.

The star of the show, that you just couldn’t take the eyes off was the peugeot XH1 of a thrilling simplicity spiced with areas of details complexity: spokes that would emerge out individually, lights that pivot around with the same principle as the old flipping out front lights.

The landrover concepts with hexagonal wheel arches was a nice view for the eyes as well.

Of educational purposes is the scaled models exhibiton from Hyunday- my baby project- which all newcomers in the company have to do. Also the scaled models from the Mercedes stand were amazingly inspiring.

the ‘svarowski’ element of the show was the the bugatti veyron, with ceramis plated pannels, the single edition White Gold. it was manufactured only three month ago in single edition and its already sold!

All in all I can say that this kind of event is a transportation design student’s dream: you get to see there giants of the industry, but also make a good network of designers and get to see a lot of inspiring and pedagogical projects in events like Interior Motives Awards.
